Have you seen the modern fords with the same gray/sand, no metal flake or depth whatsoever paint jobs? How close to throwing their toaster in the tub were they when they chose that for a paint code on their car? It doesn't even dare to be either gray, or beige. It's the color of an orphan's gruel.
 
Chevrolet had a doleful grey a few years back too. There were a couple of Impalas running around here with it. Even decked out with better options, they looked worse than the barest fleet car in its comparatively-festive white.

There it is, down at the bottom. "White Suede". My computer screen doesn't do this justice. In real life, it's slightly more beige, but not enough to actually be beige. It is the absolute lack of any pigment, or will to live my eyes have ever seen. Subaru has a darker version festooning their junk as well. Toyota launched a similar one as a "special edition" FJ a couple of years ago, all one color, no white roof.
