What’s in a name? The Hemi Van? In this case, a 1958 392 cubic inch Hemi V8. It’s been completely rebuilt and the engine bay and interior have been modified to make it fit. It’s mated to a 727 transmission and power makes its way to the ground through the back wheels thanks to a 12 bolt Dana posi rear with 3.90 gears. It gets a little extra help (when requested…) from an on-board nitrous system, too.
The first thing your eyes are drawn to, though, is the paint. Yes, this van is all paint – not a vinyl wrap. All of the paint is PPG with silver metal flake, and all of the artwork was airbrushed with House of Kolor paint. This van was built by a professional painter with an eye for detail as sharp as any we have ever seen here at Blue Marlin Motors.
On the inside, the interior is finished in velvet, teak, redwood, and stained glass. The front windows are etched, too. The door sills are carbon fiber. The custom motorbox has see-through panels, so you can admire the beautiful candy-blue painted 392 HEMI. When we say there is too much to list, there is truly too much to list for this van. Every time you take a look at it, your eyes catch another detail, another customization, another new thing to love.
Underneath is no exception, and looks just as good as the top side of this van. The engine bay is painted and airbrushed just like the top, and the undercarriage is done in real carbon fiber. This totally restored custom van has everything you need to go fast and have a ball, including a wheelie bar and parachute, if that’s more your style. There’s something for everyone in the Hemi Van.
