1971 Dodge Charger - $74,500 - Lakeland, FL - This amazing car was delivered new to David Millenich by South Pointe Dodge
of Lincoln Park, Michigan on October 23, 1970. The story is the car was a gift
by Chrysler Corporation to David, a local policeman that saved a child's life in the area.
While this can't be confirmed, it would explain why this Charger R/T was so
heavily optioned and includes some very rare options we have never seen.

We have the original warranty folder in David's name and the build sheet.

This car had 96K original miles and went thru a complete restoration a few years ago.

Chrysler cashed in on the media excitement of giving a new car to a local hero cop, now someone else is trying to cash in on the same story 44 years later. Nice car, but the hero story doesn't triple the value. :(

$75K is the absolute top dollar for this type of car, but I'd expect only the much-rarer 4-speed version would bring that kind of coin. Also, it had better be a knock-'em-dead-in-the-Platinum-Tent perfect #1 car, which this one doesn't even approach. As a restoration, the underhood needs some love, the hood insert is destroyed, the wrong-year center caps are on the car, etc.

Also, it's brown. Sorry, but that's a $5K hit on the car no matter how nice. I could see this one bringing maybe $30K less than asking, though, being as loaded as it is. Oddball stuff like headlamp washers drive the restoration/numbers geeks wild.
