1970 Dodge Super Bee - $39,995 - Fort Worth, TX - In 1970 the Dodge Super Bee got an all-new look and the horsepower was still as strong as ever. This Sublime Limelight Green hardtop shows it well with a fantastic paint job built 440 Six Pack engine and a ton of new parts. The new look lent itself to high-impact colors quite well and while Sublime Green isn't this car's original hue it should have been. With a high-quality rotisserie restoration a few years ago every square inch was covered in the eyeball-searing paint and there's just no evidence this car has had a color change. Of course that was a few years ago so it's showing some signs of use but the quality stands out on this one even after the fact with a lot of folks mistaking it for a fresh restoration. Correct black C-stripes were fitted to the quarters along with matching black hood scoops and a Go-Wing out back to complete the outrageous look. With a new black vinyl top it looks sleek and totally a child of the muscle car era and even today has a look that will make guys at the stoplight next to you think twice about having a go. The white and black interior is just as eye-popping as the paint with upholstery that's just too white to be believed. Somehow someone has managed to put a few miles on this monster but it doesn't show inside where the seatcovers carpets and even the door panels where you'd rest your elbow are immaculate. The steering wheel is a little fatter than the standard-issue piece and there's a column-mounted tach but otherwise this ultra-sanitary interior is the way Dodge intended probably better. Rallye Gauges are a nice option but you'll note there is no radio since this car was built for one thing and one thing only. The pistol-grip shifter handles the gears in a genuine 833 4-speed and matches the wheel quite nicely don't you think? The trunk covers the basics with a full-sized spare and a jack along with a fresh mat. What the Super Bee was designed to do was go fast and thanks to the built 440 under the twin snorkels this one is insanely good at it. Topped with a correct Edelbrock Six Pack induction system it snarls and barks with cackles on the overrun just like you remember. Power steering and brakes are the lone concessions to civility but you'll appreciate them out on the street. Hemi Orange paint practically vibrates against the Sub Lime inner panels and there's no hiding that unique air cleaner. Underneath it's built for durability thanks to the aforementioned 4-speed and a Dana 60 stuffed with 3.54 gears on a Sure Grip limited slip. The floors are as nice as the bodywork and the dual Flowmasters give it a nasty sound. Staggered chrome Torque Thrust wheels wear 235/70/15 front and 275/60/15 rear BFG radials. Good thing it's fast because there's just no sneaking around in this high-profile Dodge. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
