1970 Dodge Challenger

1970 Dodge Challenger - $48,000 - Madison, GA - 1970 Dodge Challenger 440 RT Convertible, I bought this car with full intentions of restoring, but I just "ran out of steam" in doing it. It is a #s matching Top Banana, 440 RT automatic convertible with factory air. It is one of 129 and even fewer had AC. I have the fender tag and dash tag. The build sheet was not in it when I bought it. I have the FL title for it. It was sold new in St. Pete, FL, and it sat in a friends basement in Marietta, GA for about 15 years before I bought it and brought it here to my home in Madison, GA. It needs a complete restoration and is mostly dissembled, tagged and bagged. Some of the pictures are before the disassembly. You can see exactly what is involved to restore it due to the disassembly. It was painted blue in the early 80s in FL. I have many new, rebuilt, and used parts for this car (some rare). I have over $50K invested in it to this point. I just want my money back from someone who can appreciate what this car is. {;>) Thanks for looking.

I've seen this car in person. I knew the guy in Marietta that had it; it's the same guy that had the oddball full-manual Hemi Orange '70 R/T-SE that I've mentioned in the past. It's the real deal, but the pictures really don't show how much of a fucking rat this car really is. The top well is worse than the cowl, and you can see how much of that was cut away. Both front inner fenders and the firewall were soft, too.

The market prices for finished cars, in my opinion, don't warrant the cost of restoring it in the hopes of making money. It had better be exactly what you want, because by the time this thing is done right, you'll have six figures into it if bought at the asking price. My guess is this guy bought this car during a peak in the market and is either stuck with the car or is going to take a bath monetarily.
