1970 Dodge Challenger - Inquire - St Lambert, QC - 1970 DODGE CHALLENGER RT
Green on green. 440 6 Pack engine. Factory N96 shaker hood. Factory 4 speed transmission, Dana 60 rear end with 4.10 (A34 Super Trak-Pack) 15 inch rally wheels. Real V ¨Code¨ Challenger.
We found this Challenger in California. The owner had it for 28 years. He had restored it in the early 2000s to attend car shows. His interest waned over the years and for a number of years the Challenger just sat. But old loves die hard and as per the truck driver, he teared up when he saw his Challenger being taken away. We were ordered to ..take good care of her…
Additional Information
As part of restoration, The Challenger was sandblasted. New metal came from a donor 6 Pack Challenger or NOS. Painted its original F8 color. Engine was rebuilt as well as transmission, shifter mechanism and Dana. Suspension was redone and new brakes and brake lines were put in. New accurate exhaust system with mufflers and resonators. All wiring was replaced. The cluster was sent out to be rebuilt and is impeccable as is the rest of the dash. The seats have new covers. The door panels, liner and other interior components were all changed and are in perfect condition. The undercarriage is spotless.
When it got us, we had the Challenger wet sanded and buffed and it looks amazing. Funny how that green on green color combination just grows on you. It goes to show that you should never rule out anything and keep an open mind in our hobby.
As mentioned, the paint is excellent; we treated it to a full wet sanding and buffing which brought out the F8 color Chrome is in immaculate condition.
We now have the Challenger to a point where it is running perfectly and with the 4.10s in the back it will smoke the biais ply tires on the shifts from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th. If you are going to drive this car consider putting a set of radials to replace the biais ply.
