Are there people out there that will actually pay that kind of money for these cars?

Not in that condition, they don't.

The carpet by the console tells me everything I need to know. This car was done by the master of the rush-job. Every mod including the entire engine, the shitty steering wheel cover, fucked-up dash, etc. looks half-assed. Where's the gorgeous original hood? Where are all the AC parts? The heyday of a decent E-body bringing an automatic $30K are long past, and he'd be lucky to get $12K less than his asking with so much wrong. If it's not the numbers engine & trans, deduct even more. I also wonder about the R/T status... lots of dumb-asses out there think a 383 automatically makes it an R/T, even if it was a 2V originally.
