A very nice waste of time with an asking price nearly twice its worth. It's not an original 383 car, so if you're going to go through the effort of slamming a big-block in there, why bother with the small one?! No vacuum on the distributor so driveability and gas mileage suck, too, unless there's some sort of timing computer I can't see (and no, an MSD box is not a timing computer).
 
A larger engine would make it more ill handling than it already is.
It is a nicely done clean car......that could be easily built for about one third his price. :hmmm:
 
A 400 is the same weight, and the difference in weight to go with a 440 is negligible once you've made the car into such a nose-heavy pig in the first place. Another 40-50lbs barely moves the F/R bias, really, and you've already committed yourself to living in fear of corners just by virture of building a big-block A-body.
 
The smart move would be a 400 block stroker with as much aluminum as you can afford. :cool:
