1968 numbers?

In 1968 the numbers on the block didn't always match the vin....why? Was it mid year that his changed? Where the non matching blocks still numerically marked? Where they blank like a replacement?
Anyone got a decoder for them?

I don't know about that :huh: ...my GTX was built early in 67 and my block matches....this is the first I've ever heard of this:hmmm:

My meeger 318 matches. just the last I think its 8 of the serial.
