1968 Chrysler Newport - $19,900 - Grand Rapids, MI - The Chrysler Newport is very iconic name in the Chrysler lineup and one that ran for over 40 years. Coupes, convertibles, wagons and sedans were all part of the long generation of Newports. In 1968 the 4th generation of Newports finished its cycle and Chrysler offered a special option for the year, Sports Grain upgrade. Only 965 coupes were produced with this very stylish feature and was meant to mimic the older Town & Country woodies that were so popular. Many of these were used and discarded or rotted away as they were a very affordable car when new, but used as family cars and very few ever survived and remain in this kind of condition.
This specific Newport Sports Grain coupe is in remarkable condition with extremely low miles that are believed to be accurate and documented thru previous owners log book and title and registrations. Car was produced on June 21st of 1968 and was by Bricker Motor Sales in Croswell Michigan. Car was then traded back in and sold to the second owner in Port Huron Michigan where it remained in his custody up until 2013. The car was stored properly, maintained extremely well and used as a show car. Vehicle is clean throughout the inside and outside. The paint is clean and crisp, moldings are straight and the wood grain looks like new. The fit and finish of the car is quite impressive and would be hard to duplicate this vehicle. Interior is all original with gauges functioning properly, and all lights working. Vehicle was optioned with the big 383 V8, body belt moldings, remote trunk release, Music Master AM radio, tinted windshield and fender mounted turn signal indicators.
We are excited to offer this very unique classic vehicle that deserves to be put into someone's collection as these cars will only have an upside as the years go by. Low production cars with stellar condition and factory original are very difficult to obtain. Vehicle comes with spare tire, log book, several documents laminated by 2nd owner, owner's manuals, registrations, and letter from Pentastar regional association. New white wall tires, battery and fluids were recently done.

I agree, I'm really glad the interior of my Fury II is devoid of it.. I've got the black, vertically "stitched" door panels, and no "burled walnut" stripes around my gauge cluster.. Thinking of saving the door cards when this car dies to put in my next fuselage sedan junker (inevitable)
