1968 Chrysler 300 - $24,990 - Plainview, NY - The 1968 Chrysler 300 Convertible
North Carolina car that spent most of its life on an estate in California. Numbers matching 440ci police interceptor engine powers this extremely rare 300 with a 3speed automatic transmission, 4bbl carb & 385hp with original Holley Carb that was just rebuilt and dual exhausts. Only 2161 300s were made in 1968. This one has less than 73000 actual miles. This car has had a beautiful 2 stage repaint in its original color, Polar White, a few years ago and is still perfect today. Body panels are straight and original with no signs of any body damage ever. Chrome & trim is in excellent condition. There is absolutely no rust and never has been. Interior sports a center console with factory vacuum gauge. Interior seating and carpet is all new. Power top is original. It operates perfectly and is in excellent condition. The boot is also original, in excellent condition and goes on easily. Power steering, power brakes. Power D/S seat, AM radio, tripmeter, hide-a-way headlights all work perfectly. Magnum 500 rims on redline tires, Spare tire is brand new. All gauges, lights signals, heater/defroster, wipers & speedometer & tripmeter are in perfect working order. AM radio plays beautifully. Turn signals are visible from the sides car on the lower front fenders and quarter panels. They were also visible by the driver on the top of the front fenders as well as on the dash. Real WoW factor! You wont see this car everyday especially in this condition. Real pretty!! Can literally be driven everyday although this car is much more than just a driver.

......police interceptor engine.......
..... 4bbl carb & 385hp with original Holley Carb

Who writes this crap...???

Police Interceptor.....wasn't that the cliche that ford enjoyed using for a string of years?

And C-body 440's were all rated at 350 hp. :naughty: Ma never built a 385 hp anything.

yes police interceptor is almost entirely ford..with some exception in the 50s

but i have and always will lvoe these cars

Ma never built a 385 hp anything.
Well, there was the 1971 E87 440... Oopsie. :D

Mopars were referred to as "police pursuit" cars. While C-bodies could be ordered with the high-perf 440, it's few and far between that you see one except in '66, where you see a lot of the 365-horse 440 in 300s. The high-perf 440 wouldn't hit 375HP for another year, but was popular with various highway patrols well into the '70s. I've seen dozens of U-code ex-MSP cars over the years.
