1964 Plymouth Barracuda - $15,000 - Santa Rosa, CA - 1964 Plymouth Barracuda Custom

Dodge Dart Front Fenders/Hood
This vehicle was stripped down to unibody frame and rebuilt as below

Fully rebuild customized engine as below:
360ci engine block bored and stroked to ~410ci
4340 Forged Steel 4” stroke Crankshaft
Ross Custom pistons
Hand Ported cast iron heads
Hydraulic cam ~0.5" lift, (max streetable)
Holley 4 barrel double pumper carb (may need to be downsized for steetability)
Custom built Steel Headers
Custom built Exhaust System
Less than 50 (fifty!) miles on the new engine
New water pump, alternator, fuel pump, distrib, etc.
Lakewood Forged Steel Clutch housing
Alumin encased manual 4 speed, rebuilt
Hurst Shifter
8 3/4 differential, upgraded
Aftermarket wheels
Aftermarket u joints, also with custom drive shaft "catch" (in case of front U joint failure to avoid pole vaulting car)
Custom wood door panels
Custom paint
New Foam for seats with custom covers
Upgraded Carpet, ceiling covering
Wired for aftermarket speaker system
Rechromed rear bumper
Engine compartment detailed

Things that have not been upgraded:
-Front disc brakes were upgraded from stock (originally were drums) but are not aftermarket
-Springs were upgraded from stock, but not with last rebuild
-Shocks
-Drive shaft

To be done:
1) I built a custom clutch assembly after the new housing which does not work well and so I would probably upgrade to a hydraulic throw out bearing.
Should be towed until this is fixed, as it’s finicky.
2) Probably needs a downsized carb to use less fuel.

I think I actually still have stub frame connectors cut that are ready for installation to beef up the unibody, and also spare rear glass window.
I've probably forgotten many things on this, as I did this 10+ years ago and then it has sat, covered, garaged for that time. After engine rebuilt I put less than 50 miles on it, so it literally is pristine.
I am selling because I have moved out of state, and simply do not have time in my life to use it, and space to store it. It has sat in my parents' garage for 10 years and now they need the room.
I have records of every part and spec of engine rebuild, etc if I can find the binder.

PRICE….$15K
Hemmings shows good condition 1965 Barracuda for $15K. $23K- $32K for upgraded/restored.

Looking to recoup my costs of parts + minimal labor. I think $15K is a give away offer for what it has.
You must arrange pickup and transport, as I’m out of state.

I'm not sure exactly how to take this. :hmmm: This guy doesn't seem to have a good grasp on what he's doing.

ok..i dont exactly like gen 1 fish..the face just...ugh...but the dart nose looks GOOD on it...

theres a guy localy who is doing a 67-9 nose on a 66 valiant wagon

Well, I guess we know it was crashed. :D

There's a lot to like here, though I'm not a fan of the Dart front end whatsoever. Additionally, he's in the throes of one of the Big Three Ds: Death, Divorce, and Desperation. He's definitely gonna get desperate if he's not there already, anyhow. If an early A-body guy was looking, we're talking a once-crashed CA car with a 4-speed and an 8.75" rear, stroker engine already installed. At $10K, this might be a solid deal... but I'd pull a head and measure piston travel before I got too crazy with the checkbook.
