So, how did they make a 426 out of a 440? De-stroke it? Sleeve it? I guess the bigger question would be "why?".

It seems like a decent enough car, though. I thought Max Wedges weren't available in hardtops, much less top-line Polaras. The only pre-'65 Super Stock car I ever remember seeing in a hardtop body was the turquoise '64 Dodge 440 with a cross-ram Hemi originally ordered and bought new by Lyn Ferguson.

We both know that even a gm guy wouldn't spend the coins to do either. It's probably owned by someone that has a checkbook but couldn't find the dipstick. A 440 block makes it a 440, period. :huh:
