WOW, the only non-original things on the car, (besides usual maintenance items) are the radio and engine paint. This thing is like a time capsule.

Look closely at the shifter. It says "Hurst" but I think it was designed by Allis Chalmers. Because of its' awkward up & back design the throw was more up & down rather than back & forth. I had a 64 Sport Fury with the same setup. :dgt:

A factory 426 (wedge) with a 4 speed? Shheee-iit. The exterior patina is perfect.. Nothing's smashed up, I love the front end on these cars. The headlight surrounds look like a nod towards the Turbine cars, the grille, and the way the bumper scallops around the headlights.. Sweet.. It gets my lady juices flowing. Shame that designer went on a smoke break when they designed the instrument panel. Oh well. Honestly, if the headliner, dash, and door cards were a little nicer, I'd almost consider forking out $20 large of money I don't have to own this. It's even Navy Blue, my favorite color on these.

Yeah, the shifter feels kind of goofy in these (only with the console, though) but once you're used to it, they're pretty awesome. This was the era of real Hurst shifters and linkage, with heavier-duty bits, bushings, etc. After the Inland debacle, the Hursts weren't the off-the-shelf race parts they'd been through '65. Crappy bayonet handle mounting, unbushed production-line linkage (made by Inland, no less), etc. Don't get me wrong, the later Hursts were miles better than the Inland garbage, but they weren't like the original Comp Plus stuff used prior.

This car actually seems to be priced about right, considering its originality. I've got a couple of friends that would flip for this car, one having owned a '64 4-door 330 sedan as his second car and the other having had a '63 Polara 4-door hardtop around the same time. The '64 was even this same color...
