1963 Dodge Polara - $125,000 - Lakeland, FL - Mr. Norm's 50th Anniversary Max Wedge Edition with a vintage aluminum front clip & bumper.Barn find drag car with less than 20K original miles.
This car is in the official Mr. Norm's Grand Spaulding Registry. This car was at the
2013 SEMA show. This is the only 50th Anniversary Mr. Norm's classic vehicle ever
produced. One of One. No expense was spared in building/restoring this piece of
automotive history. Well over $200,000 has been spent on this car and well over 2000
hours were spent on this magnificent restoration/build. The relatively rust-free body was
completed stripped down to bare metal. Every nut and bolt has been removed
& replaced. No detail was left untouched.
It has an original date coded 426 Max Wedge block built with an original steel
crankshaft, forged rods, forged pistons, new Edelbrock All Aluminum Max Wedge
Heads, Comp Cam EFI camshaft, Comp Cams roller rockers, ceramic coated
headers & topped off with Hilborn Fuel Injection converted to EFI by Imagine
Injection controlled by a fully programmable Mega-Squirt computer system.
It has a built 727 automatic transmission & Hughes 3500 stall converter with a
Gear Vendors overdrive unit bolted to the back of the transmission completed
with 3.55 8 and 3/4 rear end. Original push button gear selection.
The front and rear suspension are all heavy duty Dodge, four wheel power disc
brakes were added, the valve covers have a carbon fiber treatment on them with the
50th Anniversary logo on them, the tan interior is extremely well done & very
elegant, including Suede inserts. The car has a roll cage in it but the door bars
were removed so you can get in and out of the car easily. The 1963 push button
transmission controls were maintained to keep the correct era dash together.
A center console was added with Autometer gauges to monitor the vehicle plus
a tach was added to steering column. The typical modern touches were added.
A March Performance front serpentine drive kit was used, ice cold Vintage Air system
was added, heavy duty AFCO aluminum radiator, stereo system with four speakers,
power brakes & steering.
The stainless trim on the car was polished & 15 inch 5 spoke rims were added with BF Goodrich tires.
The bottom of the car was completely detailed with the underside of the body completed
in a bedliner material that is extremely durable. Again, the attention to detail is excellent.
You will not be disappointed with the quality of this car
The rotisserie restoration was completed with a high level of care, detail, fit and finish.
