1963 Dodge Dart - $4,500 - Manitowoc, WI - All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance.Talk about bang for the buck! This 1963 Dodge Dart represents a great deal on a classic A-body Mopar. No, the price is not a misprint. And yes, it runs and drives just fine. It has many desirable features as well and is far from an old rust bucket.
This Dart really is a nice solid car. The underside is in very good condition; there are no holes in the floor, rotted torsion bar mounts, or other rust issues. The body is in good shape too, with the worst feature being a bubble on top of the right fender. The deep purple paint is a little thin in places but looks decent from a few feet away. The front bumper has been removed to emphasize that unique 1963 Dodge look, and the side moldings have also been removed and the holes filled. All original parts are included. Also note the new Cragar S/S wheels and Yokohama tires.
Under the hood is the durable 225ci Slant-6. This engine has a great reputation for reliability, outperforming the straight-6 offerings from Ford and Chevy. This one has a rebuilt cylinder head along with an aftermarket split exhaust manifold, so you have a true dual exhaust all the way back. There is even an x-pipe! The original manifold and air cleaner are included. The transmission is the classic pushbutton Torqueflite automatic which works perfectly.
The interior has had some work done and looks nice overall. The seat covers are in good condition as are the door panels, headliner, and dashboard. The gauges, horn, wipers, heater, and parking brake all work. The original AM radio is just for looking at though. I think the interior is a nice design, simple and uncluttered, though the ashtray on the seat back doesn't seem like the best idea!
This Dart really offers a lot for the money. It not only has the unique 1963 Mopar look, Slant-6 power, and a pushbutton transmission, but is also is a solid car that runs and drives good with a nice sound to boot. You'll have a hard time finding more Mopar for the money.
