1960 Chrysler 300F - $45,000 - Oroville, WA - Original unrestored numbers-matching 1960 Chrysler 300F. The car has approximately 95,000 original miles on it. It was purchased new in 1960 from a dealership in Spokane, Washington. The original owner purchased the car for his wife and she drove the car regularly until she passed away in 1993. The car was then stored in a barn where it was discovered and purchased by its current owner in 2012.
Exterior:
The body is rust-free which includes the trunk, wheel wells, rockers, and floorboards. The running gear and chassis was also inspected and no rust was identified. If rust exists, it is of the minor surface kind. The body is as straight as it was when it left the factory. Since then, it has has never been hit, damaged or repaired. There are minor indentations along the top of the fenders created by people servicing the motor over the years.
All the glass is flawless and the chrome is straight and free of significant damage. The 300F badges, grill, lights, and bezels are pristine. The doors, hood, and trunk swing open with ease and are in perfect alignment with the door frame. The trunk lock is worn and as a result, any key will open it. The large 14” wheels (to include the spare) were wrapped in new Coker radial white walls that replicate the original tires but improve driving performance. The steel wheels were cleaned and powder-coated in black. In addition, the complete set of hubcaps were professionally restored. The headlights, high-beams, turn signals, and parking lights function. While the rear bumper is straight, it could be improved from re-chroming.
Interior:
The four bucket seats are in respectable condition. The front seats rotate out and adjust smoothly. The headliner is in good condition with exception to a small tear in the passenger side. The headliner is reinforced by its original chrome ribs. Door panels and carpet are also very respectable. The dash is in good condition and has already undergone extensive work. The gauges and main gauge assembly was removed and sent to JC Auto Restoration in Seattle in 2000 for a complete restoration. The gauge panel was reinstalled but the previous owner declined to complete the wiring as he felt he was unqualified to perform the task. The original radio (which worked when removed) is in the box and comes with the vehicle. The original tachometer is missing but Chrysler used the same tachometers for all of its 1960 to 1963 models and are available through restoration vendors.
Running Gear:
The car comes with its number matching 375 horse 413 cubic inch wedge motor. The engine fires and runs strong. In 1993, the engine and transmission were removed from the car and delivered to Jones Automotive in Spokane for a complete rebuild (documentation of the work is available). The car has accumulated less than 500 miles since its rebuild. The car is equipped with the cross-ram induction intake manifold and two Carter AFB four-barrel carburetors.
The Torqueflite transmission shifts with confidence. The driveline and rear-end do not leak. The power brakes function well and provide evenly-distributed stopping power. The car has power-steering but did not come equipped with air conditioninng. The engines operates at a consistent 60 lbs of oil pressure. The car is impressive but is over 55 years old and has imperfections that come with its age. The wiring will need to be addressed and the heater was never operated nor was the heater fan. Only the spark plugs, hoses, and oil filters were replaced in order to maintain the unrestored character of the car.
Additional Information:
Retractable Ford seat belts were added. The car does maintain its original factory paint job. The bumper is crooked as a result of the previous owner installing a towing hitch. The bumper had to be removed in order to remove the tow hitch and requires additional adjusting to be perfectly aligned with the body.
Regarding the gauges, the amp meter is functional and the radio does have its original knobs. Also included is the clock that came with the car. The trunk is complete: the trunk panels and liner will be included with the sale of the car. Also included is new trunk carpeting. The engine compartment access panels are not currently installed but do come with the vehicle. The car is equipped with funtional power seats. Less than one hundred miles have been put on the car since it was purchased by the current owner.
All matters pertaining to this car have been described to the best of the owner's ability and observations and car is sold "as is." Sale price is $45,000 or best offer. No trades will be considered. The car is located in Oroville, Washington. The ad will be removed when the car is sold. Please call if you have questions or want to schedule an appointment to view the vehicle.

Considering that only a few things need "tweaking", and still being presentable original paint, a mostly original cross-ram 300 shouldn't be too much of a reach at that price. :hmmm:

It is is what they claim, at $45K this car is probably already sold. Long-ram letter cars of this quality bring that kind of money without problem. This one has its issues but nothing I see that's a deal-breaker.
