This doesn't actually seem to be a bad deal, but the blue interior completely clashes with the exterior. No matter how hard you try, painting the emblems will never look right, and they really detract here. The door count is a real shame, too... but accounting for all that, $32,500 isn't terrible if this is the kind of car that floats your boat. The front-end styling is way too bland for the rest of the car, though.

There was nothing special about the 383 engine. It was the base engine in the Chrysler. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure a Golden Lion should be a 413. Every one I've ever seen was, but then again this is the base-model Windsor.

Except that for '59 it's an oddball RB 383. The only RB to ever come with a 2 bbl manifold.

Everything I've read has always said those were '59-'60 only, but I've seen several '61s with that engine including the white/red interior Newport coupe I fell in love with about 15 years ago. I still wish I'd bought that car. It wasn't for lack of effort.

Right you are on the '59 - '60, Windsor & Saratoga's only. Years ago an old friend had a '59 Sara with a Golden Lion 383. That thing was a torque monster. It would smoke one tire all the way until it shifted into 2nd and then it would howl the tire again. He took it to Great Lakes Dragway and set a class record that stood for most of that season. :D All the "brothers" in the stands were whoopin' & hollerin'. :shifty:
