MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the rare and seldom seen 1955 Dodge Coronet. This car is a very desirable 2 door hardtop finished in the colors of “Admiral Blue metallic and Halo blue”. Paint and body present extremely well with some minor signs of age visible upon close viewing. The contrasting white top and taillight accents compliment the beautiful blue of the exterior. The chrome bumpers are in very good condition boasting above par fit and finish. The aluminum trim is in great shape as well, only showing minor imperfections.
The 1955 Dodge lineup, consisting of the entry-level Coronet, Royal and ornate Custom Royal was a major departure for the company. The Dodge lineup was marketed as the mainstream line in Chrysler’s hierarchy, between Plymouth and Desoto. The 1955 Dodge was all-new with a longer 120 in (3048 mm) wheelbase and 212.1 in (5387 mm) overall length than the 1954 cars. They shared their basic mechanicals with the De Soto, but featured special styling. These cars lasted through the 1955 and 1956 model years before being replaced by the all-new 1957 design. Coronets were available in all body styles except convertible. Although the hardtop coupe was officially named “Lancer”, it wore only “Coronet” badges. Turn signals were standard on the Royal and Custom Royal models but optional on the base Coronet.
Inside, the interior is finished in the original color combination of checkered blue cloth with white vinyl. The seats are in great condition, showing very little indication of age or use. The dashboard, door panels, headliner appear period correct and compliment the rest of the interior.
Under the hood, you’ll find a date code correct 270 cubic inch V-8 Red Ram engine mated to a 2-speed “Powerflite” automatic transmission” To achieve the dramatic Lead Sled stance, the suspension has been lowered slightly but car maintains a very nice comfortable ride. This iconic 50s cruiser also features dual chrome exhaust tips, optional turn signals, 15 inch steel wheels with full chrome Dodge hubcaps wrapped in wide white wall tires.
This extremely handsome and great driving Coronet is sure to turn heads no matter where you take it!! It would be an excellent addition to any classic car collection or a fabulous Sunday driver!. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
The mileage currently 27,116. It is being sold on a clean and clear, mileage exempt Texas title.
VIN: 34885587

Well, it's gorgeous where it counts, but it's obviously not a full restoration. I got worried when I saw the spare tire well, and no confidence returned with the view from beneath. Absolutely beautiful car, but I would not plunk down the kind of money the engine bay and interior seem to warrant after seeing the dark side of things.
