1953 Studebaker Rat Rod Hot Rod Pickup.
Where to start?
Chassis is from a 1979 Chevy Malibu G-body
Rear suspension is custom tube and Heim-joint fully adjustable four link.
With air bags.
Front suspension has a manual steering conversion with 3 drop.
Rear end is 4.56-1 gears.
Trans is a built 700-R4 W 2500RPM stall converter and shift kit.
Engine is a stroked small block Chevy 383ci.
MSD Ignition 6-AL.
Edelbrock tunnel ram intake with 2-660 CFM center squirt Holley carbs.
Hooker headers with Flowmaster 60 series mufflers.
Body... The cab is from a 1953 Studebaker 2-R10 bed is of the same vintage shortened about 2 feet.
The remains of the tailgate are now the front of the bed.
The tailgate area is replaced with a louvered panel and the rear fenders are widened 2 inches for the 31x10.5x15 tires on the vintage Slot Wheels.
The grill is from a 1935 Chevy truck laid back and filled with a custom 4 core brass radiator

Trans cooler and 16inch electric fan

If there is an "Ugliest rat-rod class" this thing wins, hands down. :bwuhaha:

As I've built things over the years I've done the "virgin drive" many times in an unfinished project. But this thing just looks scary dangerous. Some of the individual parts may have some value, but as a whole, it is worthless. :doh:
 
This is one of the problems with rat rods. Overall, they're enormous pieces of shit--that's the whole point--but people are actually placing value on them now? This thing could be built with junkyard/swap-meet parts for under $3,000. Assembling shit into a pile does not make the pile valuable.

The 660 center-squirters on a 383 small-block that lives with a 2,500 stall and isn't enough to vaporize a TH700-R4 are downright laughable.
