1949 Plymouth Special Deluxe - $15,000 - Auburn, WA - 1949 Plymouth Special Deluxe Woodie Wagon: Barn Find/Project Car
Plymouthwoodies.com states in 2005 only 26 Special Deluxe Woodie Wagons were known to exist---this is probably Number 27 ! In dry storage since 1977. Last licensed in OR in 1966. Perfect title. 1950 motor with new rings and bearings, but hasn't run in 25 years. With a little work, tires, brakes, and a tune-up, it should be a driver. The car is complete, but has some issues:

  • Drivers door has had an amateur rebuild. It is functional, but needs help.
  • Floor boards rusted out at drivers seat. (Probably the door died with the floor.)
  • Some rust in the body panel underneath in front of left rear wheel well. It is where the outer side panel and the floor boards are joined.
  • Left front fender has been hit and pounded out, but is bowed out from inner fender (fixable).
  • Right rear fender has been hit and has a crease/wrinkle in it (fixable).
  • The wood is in need of help, some has been sanded, some repaired, and some wood putty is in places.
The good news is that most of the wood pieces that have been removed (i.e. door panels and supports) are still with the vehicle for templates. There is a radio and radio face plate, plus a radio delete plate. All of the doors and back hatch open and close. The rear lower tail gate has not been opened, it hits the bumper. All three seats are there, as is the rear bumper.

Just need to find some antique, decrepit-ass surfboards at $3,000 each to complete the really-overpriced, uh, patina of this thing.
