Fair enough, but how many of those do you think are still out there? Of that number, how many would you guess have the original wood in that kind of shape? I think it's exorbitant as well, but if that's the kind of car that trips your trigger and you've got the money to spend, it's probably a once-in-a-lifetime chance. It doesn't interest me whatsoever other than to look at it, inspect it, and appreciate what it is. So, in my case I wouldn't give $10K for it even if I had that kind of money lying around. I think cars like that are cool... for someone else. Stuff I would want to actually own starts around 1955 unless I'm going to cut it and do a street machine or a gasser-style build.

Jay Leno buys cars that trip his trigger... he doesn't care about authenticity, price or anything else. He bought a car from a couple of local guys for huge money. While the work was well-done, the car is totally incorrect and has added options (such as a Highway Hi-Fi and long-ram engine) not original to it. He reposrtedly paid well into six figures for that car with absolutely no documentation that it was the real deal. It's a 361-2V car, if memory serves, and I think it's a '60 Phoenix.

I've seen some of their other work--meticulous and beautiful, but nowhere near correct.
