1941 Chrysler Town & Country - $299,900 - Central, VA - CHRYSLER - 1941 Town & Country Barrel Back Station Wagon. This is an original unrestored example of perhaps Chrysler's most prestigious wooden bodied model. This car has been superbly preserved over the years and to date has only traveled 56,442 miles. The original leather remains undamaged and with a wonderfully even and mellow amount of wear. For more than fifty years, its former owners kept this automobile showcased as a display in the Wells Automobile Museum, in Wells, Maine. Originally, it came out of Vermont estate where it had been properly protected and stored away in a wooden building. The inspection sticker on the windshield is from the 1950/51 season. It is the more scarce seven passenger version. The original chrome shows age, but remains very presentable. The wood is original and appears to have been preserved with a new coat of varnish many years ago. The paint under the hood is still original, however probably from the same period (we guess early 1970's) it has had a one time repaint. In the recent past, the car went to a top shop where it had all of its brake and fuel system overhauled. This car runs and drives out extremely well. It starts easy, never overheats and seems quite tight on the road. The car has good power, no smoke and no apparent mechanical issues at all. This is a good car that appears to have never suffered a bad moment since new. To find a never restored correct and complete example of this particular model is all but a thing of the past. Restored examples have been sold at auction in recent times for as high as $600,000. Presently private museum stored in central Virginia.
Priced at $299,900
