06 Charger reveal

Well, there you have how much of the rest of the civilized world sees America... a bunch of beer-swilling rednecks who jump up and go "woo-hoo!" every time Tony Stewart goes into the wall.

Funny they did such a reveal at NAIAS, considering the fact that the vast majority of people at such events (the reveal, not the show) are journalists, many--probably most--of whom recognize NASCAR for the ridiculous series that it is...

pit crew sucked ass

[smilie=r: richard petty was not very enthused about the car ....there was no excitement anywhere. it was just all german [smilie=e:

Junk -how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. *HURL* *HURL* *HURL*

guess that's three.

The fact that it takes as many licks to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop is more interesting than that reveal was.

The most applause seemed to be when Richard Petty came on stage [smilie=e:

I'm still waiting to be impressed by the new "real" Charger. You did catch that remark on the one liner under one of the pics on that intro page didn't you?

DC says they won't build any more 2 door cars. Too bad cause I could almost live with that Nascar version. I only saw two doors on it BTW so I'm wondering how they'll explain that fact away when someone brings it up [smilie=e: [smilie=e:

Well - all I can say is I've lit & produced a lot of corporate events & product launches over the years...

The simple truth is that audience reaction THAT subdued means either the production was lame - or the product itself underwhelmed the crowd.

In this case I think it was both.

I have seem better productions put on by 8th grade drama clubs. It was lit poorly, the music was some corporate guy's idea of rock n' roll. Whoever wrote the script should be looking for work right now. And jeezzz - who ever told auto executives they should "act?" ( I guess they they figure they pulled off the "merger of equals" fabrication, so folks would believe anything.)

The car body reveal was really cool - too bad about the rest of the presentation. The guy that produced it has got to be sweating, 'cuz in that biz you are only as good as your last gig...

Has anyone else heard that Chrysler's getting or already has a new VP. I wonder if the two events are related? [smilie=e:

Here's to hoping  LOL

I meant to post more in that last reply but I got called away....

That type of exec./actor bit is particularly annoying to me.
I see it every year at our sales conference.
It is so embarassing and almost ridiculing to the audience.
The only saving grace: about halfway through, my boss called a team meeting in the hotel bar and his boss showed up and joined us.[smilie=e:

The majority of the feedback last year was "Don't. Do. That."
I leave on Friday. We'll see if they listen.
