These rivet to the dash frame not the pad so there should be no problem with them pulling out. I have riveted a VIN back on a dash before, and if it isn't bolted in, it smacks pretty hard when the pin pulls out. Going to wait until the frame is bolted in to do it.

I'm mostly piddling around not getting much done but I am debating if I should restore the VIN tag or just go with it as is. It's not bad so I'm thinking the chance of messing it up outweighs how it looks right now. I also bolted my road runner horn to the rad support :D. You get your...

I've got a heat pump in my garage that works about the same. Unless I leave it on overnight it will never shut off due to reaching temp. Once the sun is up and it gets hot out, it runs all the time, so I only turn it on when I need it. A lot better than nothing though.

I still have a few wires to figure out so I know where they plug in before I install the dash and have to figure it out on my back under the dash.

I wheeled a pair of backing plates and it seemed more a process of polishing them than it was removing rust.

Dude you are going to get sanding dust all over those pretty wheels. If it was me I'd put some junk rollers on it until that fun is finished.

No it won't feel good until all the parts I bought are installed LOL. Electrical in will be a good milestone though. Getting dangerously close to where I can stick an engine and trans in it and drive it around.

Had a happy day when I found this hanging around in the back of a cabinet, saving me from having to dye a brown part and deal with a rusty hinge, then there's the lower pad that would need dyed to match the color. With this glove box door, all I have to do is clean the pads thoroughly and I'm...

    Sunday go-to-meetin' car: 1968 Valiant 100

I've got a complete take off K-H setup from a 71 duster except for one of the hose brackets on the caliper. UCAs to rotors to spindles. The calipers are stuck and I couldn't get the pistons to pop out so I don't know if they're rebuildable or not. Let me know if you need any of it. It's only...

I see steering gear boxes in your photos, not pumps. That makes the job big.

There is another place that re-does them (https://abcmoparts.com/). They're out of stock but last time they updated their website, a b-body pad was $399 and a core $100. They will recover a core you send them but no price is listed and I didn't call. I've got to dye the lower dash pad, the...

You get no argument from me. The only thing as important as that would be a lift, because at least that gets you in and out of the heat quicker.

Hell they even escalated it. It was great customer service, but OTOH, it was find a good one or cough up a refund. FWIW you can't really notice those "pips" on the dash pad, especially if you would be sitting in a driving/riding position. So I'm keeping it.

At least it's the top dash pad that pretty much has no choice but to bolt in place if the steel core is correct. I didn't stick it on the frame to look at it yet but will do that soon before I decide to keep it or not. This whole thing reminds me of my Duster bumper extravaganza. The first...

I bought an official A-body tank mat from Detroit Muscle, and it was pretty much just a shingle. I could've saved that money and used one or more of the extras I've had stored for decades instead. :ROFLMAO: I used liquid nails for seam sealer for the trunk floor repair on that same car. An...

Google says AMC 360s have 5/16 bolts. From photos it looks about the same as the Mopar part but Google also assures me they are not the same, and they mount to opposite sides of the engine. Now that you've modified the fuel pump to hell and back to get it to bolt up, are you sure you've got...

I've been working on the dashboard. The two top pads I've got dried up and cracked all over so I counted myself lucky to be able to buy a reproduction. OER was ~$325, Legendary was about $200 more. Nobody on FBBO had anything bad to say about the OER part, so that's what I bought. Look at...
