It's always nice to keep clutter to a minimum. But I usually try to keep the "leftovers" near until the project is finished. Put all the (hopefully) unwanted's in a big box until the projects finished. I'd bet that you'll return to that box many times.

You should be able to straighten that squiggle in the bumper with a healthy pipe wrench lined with a board on the chromed side, if you can figure out how to hold the bumper steady.

From what little bit I've learned, "electric igniters" are on all newer gas furnaces. The gas shutoff will not "open" until the igniter reaches a certain temp. Theoretically the conversion should be able to do. But it would mean replacing all 3, (compatible) components together.

I do know that the 68-70 B & C wiper motors will interchange by swapping the arms and re-clocking the contact plate by rotating it accordingly. The 3 screws and the markings by them tell you where it should be. I used to know the orientation, but it was wisdom that I preferred to forget.
