Did not accomplish much the last few days but I did get the top profile cut out of plywood.
I also cut out one piece from steel today
Next week may have a bit more progress
Now the overhead view
Armed with blueprints
I started to lay everything out on the floor.
Put cowl on a piece of plywood
Layed the subfloor down
Traced the cowl and subfloor lines on to the plywood and setup where the framerails will be.
Now the fun begins.
I picked up a plasma cutter cheap from the classifieds.
Went and bought a sheet of 10 gauge steel.
Traced my pattern and cut out the profile
I do have do the body reveal line.
Stay tuned
Picked up a subfloor to copy and get measurements
Now the first decision.
I was originally planning to copy a model A frame. Then the daydreaming started.
Now I decided to build my own 32 ford frame.
So I found a blueprint of a 32 ford frame. Blew the side profile up and printed it on 16...
So I went out and bought a 1930 ford model A coupe body.
It has been chopped 3 inches already. The job was a crappy chop so I will have to redo that in the future.
I have myself a 4 inch dropped I beam axle with disc brakes.
Planning to use an overdrive a833 that I have sitting on shelf...
The last week has been very productive
Engine bay cleaned up.
Engine stuffed.
Wiring all finished up. Just plugs to attach when throttle body installed.
Lots of tedious stuff to work on this upcoming week.
:giggedy:
Been waiting for the dart to return from paint so I have been a keyboard commando in my boredom.
I stumbled on a listing for a 30 model a 5 window coupe body for sale. Low and behold it was a mile up the road and I didnt know it.
I really wanted a model a truck but this will be cool too.
Plans...
Dartie is now green.
Waiting for the buff and cut now.
Then it should be back for assembly
Painter said it is probably the brightest colour he has ever painted

So I have been tinkering in the old farm house.
Laid some porcelain tile in my kitchen
Went to check on paint progress with the dart
Also tweaked my cylinder heads and did some fancy logo removal to screw with people
Dartie was sent to the body shop back in November. Last I checked on her she was resprayed in primer and had guidecoat sprayed on. He was letting the primer dry and cure before he continued.
I also had a pair of indy 360-1 Heads fall into my lap.
I had them rebuilt and ported and with flow...
I have my 340 block at the machine shop. (Again)
They machined the deck and noticed some plugs in the deck which he assumed were coolant passages.
Is this normal? Or did someone do something strange?
I have not been at machine shop to look or take a pic.
Maybe next week I can swing out that way...
Don't worry I have the 67 dart scheduled for paint work this winter.
So the girlfriend has a 13 yr old boy who is in love with mustangs. His dad is also a mustang freak but everything has to be brand new and the best of everything.
So the boy and I went out and found an 89 mustang notchback...
I popped the intake off tonight since I had some free time while it rained.
I found that the back of the valves look like they have a pool of oil. A few of the valves look like that have black cake baked there.
I took photos of the ports. To me they look like they sealed to the intake but as...
I had to bore to 4.08 because of a gouge in cylinder wall 5. I believe a wrist pin came loose before I ever got the engine. I got the engine it was already .03 over.
These are the numbers I got for my leakdown test
